A tailgate that swings its full arc in a tight spot finds whatever is parked behind it. The gold bar bolts along the bottom edge of the gate and the factory gas strut runs down to meet it.

The module caps the tailgate's swing at a preset stop. It is the part that stops a loaded flagpole hub or spare carrier arriving at the lamp.
